How to Apply
The Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund will consider funding requests that are consistent with available funding, grant procedures and the mission. The Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund Advisory Board may, from time to time, emphasize one area over another when emerging needs or opportunities require special attention.
Grant awards are not intended to provide permanent support for any purpose. Therefore, organizations seeking funding must have the financial potential to sustain their program beyond the Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund's grant.
Grants generally range from $300 to $2,500. Capital projects will be considered for funding.
The Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund wants to be an active supporter of the community. In the spirit of this goal, it is intended that grants will be made annually.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for funding, an organization must:
- Be classified as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; or be a department within the City of Duluth, and
- Be primarily located in, or provide services to, residents within the City of Duluth.
Evaluation
All applications will be considered based on the following criteria:
- Relevance of the project to the Fund's mission and program development goals
- Evidence of need and an illustration of community benefits
- Clarity of the project's budget and evaluation plan
- Sponsorship of the project by the applicable city department
To Apply
Applicants interested in applying to the Duluth Legacy Endowment Fund should first submit an inquiry, preferably via the Web site, www.dsacommunityfoundation.com, which describes the organization, the need to be addressed, the plan outline and the funding needed.
